sweet TEXAS.i miss you.

this is how i feel about blogging on a saturday night.
i don't even care is the thing. since the mish, weekends have lost their magic and i don't care about them.

so i drove to texas with my dear friend ashlie
(my favorite bumper sticker, by the way, is the "American by birth, TEXAN by the grace of God" one)

she blew it and decided to move home..so i accompanied her on the 18 hour drive.

you can only imagine how many photos i took but i will only share my two favorites-

favorite #1 = this.
who knew that new mexico was the land of enchantment? not me.

favorite #2

this house that sunk into the ground.
it looks fake but it is real. so funny yet so sad.

it was a long drive but i felt great about it. probably because i just sat in the passenger seat and made ashlie listen to top hits such as justin bieber, taylor swift, and pat benetar.
i would just like to highlight some of the events that happened in the ten days i was there.
we celebrated cinco de mayo by going shopping and going to taco diner.
it was my first time getting fish tacos and i didn't even hate them.

we went to the opera and saw "madame butterfly". opera people are not our people, but we thoroughly enjoyed people watching and our free $500 seats. yes.
midnight dance party on the porch with her sibs. oh michael.

i didn't even mention this yet, but the luckiest part about going to stay with ashlie is that she lives 18 minutes away from my sister (i was going to link the map but then realized that is probably a bad idea). it was a dream, it really was. i spent mother's day with her and her cute family. the cups would be what i used in primary and young womens to teach about the organization of our church and the restoration. best part is that i did it all in chinese haha. the babies had no idea what was going on but they loved it.

i was able to experience the "QT" which has millions of drinks and slushees and this man right here.
everyone is obsessed.

ashlie and i went on a walk and felt like 12 year old best friends. it was great. please don't judge me for having on such a see-through skirt. i didn't know it was happening until it was too late.

we also took ashlie's sisters out of school and took them to the aquarium!! our original plan was sea world but the jerks weren't open. the aquarium was a close second in top choice though. one of my favorites was this sensual little sloth. i don't know if the picture captured it but he was so great.

The Lohner Fam
this would highlight my baby nephew, samuel, and his feelings towards me touching him.
happiest moment of this day = the dallas temple is almost identical to the taipei temple in taiwan!!! not the same, but close.

this highlights me touching dogs. it doesn't happen very often because i actually don't really like them very much. don't be mad. BUT i'm working on it. the great thing about these dogs is they are very similar to the dogs above featured in the movie "best in show". i feel good about this.

so here is a great story. my sister loves cafe rio and feels so sad texas doesn't have anything like it. well i informed her that they had a costa vida about thirty minutes away from her house and she freaked out. she had never been so i introduced her to the smothered pork burrito and i think it changed her life forever.

about ten minutes before i had to leave we realized we hadn't taken very many photos so we pulled this one together real quick. love them so much.

that was probably  1% of the photos i actually took but i'm trying to not go crazy so this will have to do. it was a great little vacation and i may or may not have cried when i had to come home.

..but this guy was at the airport waiting to pick me up so it made it a little better. this would be the next morning when i returned the favor and took him to the airport so he could catch all of his planes to get to mongolia to visit his mish. i feel jealous and wish i was going to asia to visit mine as well. but for now i'll just blog on saturday nights and think about doing cooler things. and scene.

But wait, just think in a couple of weeks you will be at your favorite washington sisters casa and will be enjoying the life and times of the Co9's!!! That should be like Christmas! The last part made me want to cry...I don't know why it just did. Anyways looking forward to being with you and spending hours talking about life and missions! I LOVE YOU!
