i love you sumner.

not to be confused with summer. whom i also love.

a few weeks ago i went to see my sister in sumner, washington. i usually just say seattle but i didn't even venture to that part this time so i feel like a liar if i say it. but it is close to seattle and just as magical.

i was thinking this post wouldn't happen for weeks and weeks but by some stroke of luck i got bit by the adenoviral keratitis bug which basically attacked my neck and face and everything inside it and is goober contagious so even though i feel a bit better, i still cant be around the babies for a bit. so instead of being an awesome efy all star, i'm blogging. i feel really good at life right now..not.

first off, lets talk about how cute this little guy is. everyone, meet cardston.
nat hated this bush way bad so she just started hacking away at it one day
babies bein so helpful
all of my sisters tots. just waiting for their ice cream after seeing some crazy show. furry frenzy i believe? dont even know.
hat look familiar? we really did have a tea party thanks to a great lady named iris in nat's ward. she has like 200 hats and she basically lives in a dollhouse.
..it was one of the better moments of my life.
you better believe how obsessed i was with this orange wall so me and my babies had a mini photoshoot in front of it. we all just woke up so don't judge the nappy hair and day old make up.
you knew it would happen.
my new favorite quote.....and my new favorite mormon stickers.
and this one seemed to fit perfectly with my love life. just kidding. but i always joke with my brother in laws about hitting up scouting jamborees and checking out the deacons passing the sacrament because somehow i just always date the babies. aaaaand this next photo would be my dad being obsessed with these inspirational lds "verses" if you will. he really bought that book and he really did love it.
i hit up some way magical boutiques while there and found one with a fifty percent off sale! i accidentally threw down about 100 dollars on some vintage clothing and other goodies. that dress above was my favorite find of the day but sadly, if i turned around you would see that it would not zip up over my rib cage. i did want to take note of it though and let you all know that it would have been the greatest 12 dollar find if i had just a few ribs removed. maybe next time.
we ate asian food!!! i felt so so so happy and it was delicious. agh. i miss my people and their food.
i introduced yo gabba gabba to my emma lee and cardston and they LOVED it. we sat and watched clips from it for a good 30 to 40 minutes. i felt just as happy, thank you ashlie for introducing me to this eye candy. in case you missed it when i posted it on facebook, this is my favorite one.
the next photo would be my niece and i (who is obsessed with lightning mcqueen and wears lm underwear every single day) tried learning the orientation dance for efy that i was in charge of last week. sadly, she learned it way faster and better than i did.
like i said, my sister hated that bush. and now it is gone. bye bye bush.
braylee got the xili!!! i.e. she was baptized. this was actually the whole reason i went to visit so thanks to her for turning 8.
the fammmmm.
after the baptism we were so inspired by asia that we came home and i fixed up some asian delights for my family. so i'm sorry. no, i dont do cupcakes. but i do asia pretty dang good. and ps my sister has the cutest house ever, sorry for the lack of photos to prove it.
and here is the classy "i was on the airplane and just couldnt help taking a picture of the view" photo. hey. i couldnt.

baking time!

here is the thing.
maybe it is because i'm not married yet but i have not hit the "i love pastries!!!" phase in my life. i appreciate all of you that have though and for that reason i thought i would dedicate a post to my sister's cakes that she has made recently.  she was showing me some of them this morning and she is not much of a blogger so i thought i would do it for her. this is only a few and the pictures do not do these sweet little cakes justice. ..but i thought at least you, emma westwood, would appreciate it.
the "barbies are fun!" cake
the "we finally got a boy after four girls and we are obsessed with him" cake

the "i'm a lady!" cake

the "it looks like it says "homey" but it would actually be "honey" cake

the "i looked way better in real life but still worth noting" cake
the "why did i never think to use those gross little cookie/cracker things to make a fence?" cake
the "i just want to eat you right now and not share with anyone" cake
and we can't forget the "i have way too much time on my hands so i just HAD to make this harry potter themed cake" ..cake. this one actually happened a few days ago and i'm sad i missed it.

well there it is.
she has a bunch more but we don't know where the pictures are. if we find them i will update and post them. i hope all this craftyness that my sisters all possess will enter my body at some point. until then i will just appreciate it and live vicariously through them.

busy..

..as a bee.

a little efy bee that is.

(photo in honor of this one
i have been there for the last 16  days (with about 24 hours off in between) and might i say it has been crazy but so nice to be too busy to think of myself, sleeping, eating, or even creeping. it's like a mini mission and it feels great.

in a second i will be driving to the airport to go to this place
(photo courtesy of my 2007 fb album "seattle and such")

i should be packing but i hate it so this seemed like a nice way to procrastinate before i absolutely have to.

anyways. i haven't taken a ton of pictures (well, for me at least) so here are just a few of the highlights.

highlight 1. cleaning out big bertha with my dad so that times like this could happen. just transporting all my girls to the cannon center. they loved it. and so did bertha. and yes, there are no seats. i thought it would be better that way.
highlight 2. i got to be the dj at the dance last friday and i have never felt more pleased with myself. the only way it would have been better is if efy would approve me some justin bieber and a little more taylor swift.
highlight 3. saturday melissa marsh and i went with ashlie to her friend's cabin in pc. melissa and i took a lovely walk and self-timed some photos in random peoples yards.  ..anything for a good time.
highlight 4. i got to see my girl ashlie who came back from texas for a wedding. luckily, one night she stopped by and brought her friend who just so happened to sing the efy 2010 theme song. this would be him, and my roommate definitely told me after he left, "wow i don't think i have ever met a celebrity before! that was so cool!" hahah. wow.
oh, and i cant forget how we finally creeped my asian neighbors yard to see what all the clanking is about. you cant really tell and we still dont know for sure but we felt good about doing it.
highlight 5. byu just kept forgetting to schedule rooms with enough seats so we got to go down to the cougar room at the stadium for a morning side. you cant even tell what it looks like in this picture but i was sick of pictures with just me in them. we had to be real careful as to not ruin this room that people sit in before the game who pay 100,000 for their seats each year. it was a once in a lifetime opportunity because i would never in my life pay that much to see a football game.
highlight 6. being a bc has its perks. for example, you cannot tell in this picture but i am driving on brigham square on byu campus. getting to drive their vehicles basically allows you to do whatever you want..so i do.
highlight 7. coming across this little man made by some participant.
it looks like they weren't too interested in what we were doing at the time.

anyways. my ten minutes are up. many other nice times happened but this will do. just thought i'd give a little update because i haven't really talked to anyone in weeks. if you asked me four months ago what i thought i would be doing right now it would not be anything like how things have turned out..but it's good. life, is good.
