things that happened in august or september or maybe even july that merit a shout out but not an entire post.

3. worked an all girl shift which never happens!

4. rock canyon park movie night picture re-creation
(not to be confused with recreation, which also fits i guess)

5. the temple was good at having pretty flowers

6. how did i forget to put this in my bear lake post?

7. this is what happens when you put your hair on top of your head for days and days

8. this is mckenzie. i lived with her for five seconds in the summer time. she is great.

9. i really like everything that is happening in this photo

what better way to spend an afternoon?

14. ryan brought me cotton candy one time and it made me very happy. i tried for a long time to get a nice picture of the cotton candy in my mouth and it turned my teeth blue. so i thought i'd take a picture of that instead.

15. matching. i miss hp marathons

 16. i still like some efy people

17. these pop-up cards made me so happy yet miss taiwanese bookstores way bad

see? if those had all been in separate posts it would have been awkward. it's better this way.

r is for birthday

 r is for ryan.
r is for this being the cutest picture of him in the history of cute pictures.
aaaaand r is for the day that ryan was born on!
(which is this very day the 29th of september!!)

yes to birthdays. yes to ryan. yes to fun.
happy birthday stanford! i love you!

(and i love your parents for having you which i expressed last year)

one time ryan and i went to wyoming.

ryan is a sweetheart and came with me to wyoming to shoot this reception.

before we headed out i made sure we had roadtrip necessities

twizzlers for me. chewy sprees for him.

aaaaaand a little new found glory to bring everyone back to high school
(which was a complete surprise since it was on the rocket summer pandora station..who knew they were the same genre?)

one day ryan told me about this windmill farm in wyoming and how it has tons and tons of windmills and we passed it! this picture doesn't do it justice at allllll but they were so massive and awesome!

we got there a little early so we had a photoshoot inside of a cool silo
(not to be mistaken with sylo)

and we even got some senior pics out of the way for ry guy!

aaaaaand then all the fun stopped because i had to start taking hundreds of pictures of the occasion. sweet ryan just read his book and was so patient the whole time. i'm so lucky to have such a nice ryan who is so supportive of this little hobby of mine! he could of played a show that night with nik or could have gone to a friend's reception but didn't so he could instead sit in wyoming for hours probably bored out of his mind just to keep me company. see? so nice. hopefully our backstreet boys pandora station sing-a-long on the ride home made it worth it for him!

ps look at this sweet picture he took on his iphone!
seriously.
iphone + instagram = who even needs real cameras anymore?

9.27.2011

ps i just tried the new dynamic view template

it was kind of cool.
but kind of weird? and took off all my sidebar stuff.
guys i need my sidebar stuff!

so i went back to domo.
but one day i will change my blog to look like an adult! i guess just not today.

it is ryan's birthday this week!

as i pondered this exciting thing i realized i never blogged about his birthday last year!
who am i? am i real? i don't know.
but anyway, i decided to blog about it today! as they say, it is better to have a late post than a..no post.

....

aaaaaanyway.
a day or two before his birthday i took him to the full moon lift ride at sundance.
(you can't tell but we are on the lift in this photo)
it was our first time and we love love loved it.
(i also love love loved that jacket but it decided to turn everything pink and ruined lots of things but that is a different story)

the day of his birthday we drove up to squaw peak and had a picnic!
it was so pretty and really everything about it was dreamy.

as you can see ryan liked it too

guys remember when i had to wear glasses for 9 months? that was fun.

and so is jumping.
and i'm only posting this photo because i legitimately look 8 months pregnant
and who doesn't like that?

slightly better and not as pregnant, but still pregnant.

this birthday collage = a big fail.
i still don't know why the pictures are all pixely but whatever. i'm so glad it's the thought that counts.

after squaw peak picnic i stalled by saying i needed to go grocery shopping so that my roommates had time to set up this nice little surprise birthday party.

they were so sweet to put it all together and with bieber playing in the background how could it not have been a big success!
for some reason all my roommates called him papa so this card was rather fitting.

theeeeeeeen we made a fort outside, brought out my computer, and watched..
babies!

it was a great way to end a birthday. and a really great birthday all around.
still can't believe it took a year to be blogged about!

and as a side note: i'm still real sorry i fell asleep ry. for your birthday this year i promise that won't happen!

9.26.2011

i'm here to warn you about all you can eat sushi.

all you can eat.
it sounds like a dreamy idea, especially since sushi can get expensive, but it becomes a real problem when you accidentally order too much and you cannot leave any behind or you get charged for it.
(can you imagine being charged for your left-overs at a place like the golden corral? we would all be broke)
it started out fine. we were hungry and it was exciting to get whatever rolls we wanted!

but it slowly became a disaster when we were full and they kept bringing out rolls we ordered
(including one that was too spicy for both of us! that was unfortunate)

it came down to these five last pieces that i had to somehow consume even though i didn't feel like i could fit one more in my body.

in case you were wondering it made me feel like this.

but finally the plates were cleared and the sushi was gone
i can't promise the last two pieces were eaten..i'm sorry i just couldn't do it!

being force-fed sushi = the most awful thing ever. so if you decide to get all you can eat - don't go crazy. take it one roll at a time, learn from our mistake, and don't let it ruin your life.

i better blog about the dirty dash before everyone is sick of it.

seriously. i was talking about it with brynne the other day and she said "i think the dirty dash is the new festival of colors" ..which i couldn't have said better. pictures are already starting to pop up everywhere on fb of people in obscure outfits covered in mud and if it isn't already annoying i'm sure it will be soon. so look at these pictures and like them before you hate them, okay? thank you.

welcome to the dirty dash in soldier hollow september 17th, 2011:

we were there an hour early so i took the opportunity to photograph some other dirty dashers:

i loved this little girl if you couldn't tell.

no i wasn't wearing a size medium child's costume. and no i didn't have to tie the sleeves behind me because i couldn't actually get the costume high enough to wear it properly. why would you ask that?

what would it have felt like to have hot water instead of getting hypothermia from the freezing water?
i guess we will never know.

pre-dash photo shoot :

 we were so pumped.

this is the part where i put my camera away and the fun documentation kind of stopped. they said people would be taking photos along the way but they forgot to really do that for us so thanks to the girl with an iphone that took this photo below. that was kind of her.
(walking through deer creek was my favorite part! so i'm glad it is the one picture we have together)

flo-photo did take a few pictures, and for your viewing pleasure i classily posted them below:
(flo- we will probably buy a few so stop being mad!)

kim and i took our sweet time (half because we wanted to just enjoy it and half because well..we forgot to train or workout at all before the race) so we were not in the photo above because they finished a little before us.

okay. so they finished like an hour before us. but we really did have a great time!
and ryan was so sweet to be waiting at the end and finish with me.

(don't mind that scott had already rinsed off..like i said..this was an hour after they finished. no one blames him)

i feel like this post was weird but whatever. the dirty dash was way fun!
my body was ticked afterwards but that is bound to happen when you don't train slash work out at all or stretch before or after a 10k. whoops! i'm so awesome to my body it is ridiculous.

and in closing i just want to thank steven oswal who so generously gave his costume to the d.i. which i bought and wore this day. i ran it for you buddy!
