lagoon dos

we went to lagoon again! bounce back baby.

this time we went with just my sister kimmy and her twins kaitlynn and karter

my sister is 30 biologically but probably more like 13 in real life.
she wanted to hit every single ride before the day was out.
so we got out our map and decided to cross off each ride as we rode on it.

it was a very big deal.
match teams! glad my nine year old niece and i have the same fashion sense.

we even made some new friends!
my crew came!

the sky got so scary! i love scary clouds. they are the best.

ry and i didn't really feel like getting wet on rattle snake rapids so we went to explore pioneer village and found this hidden circus place. did anyone else know it was there?! we sure didnt.

we loooooved it.

how the heck did they get all these little miniature circus figures? it blew my mind.
loved this creepy miniature circus figure as well

way better than getting wet.

when we met up with kim and the twins we explored the north side of pioneer village which again, i didn't know existed. they had a church that was dedicated by brigham young just right there in the middle of lagoon. who knew?
it was the neatest feeling going in there as hymns played and looking at everything on the walls and sitting in the original pews where the early saints once sat.

this was really cool.
having a spiritual experience in the middle of lagoon?
something i never anticipated happening but nevertheless appreciated.

i'm so grateful that happened! we were all kind of dying but after that we were refreshed and ready to go so we decided to hit up the kid slash adult rides that are all new and by lagoon-a-beach. yet again, another part of the park that i never knew existed.
this baby loves asia as much as i do
kim and i LOVED this one. it was like we were little all over again on that dumbo ride. seriously such a happy time riding with her for those two minutes.

karter didn't care to go on the umbrella ride and kim didn't have real shoes on so he sat out and she wore his shoes.
as soon as we got on the ride it started to pour. it was at sunset so the sky was gorgeous, there were still some scary clouds, the lights came on, and we weren't even that wet since we were under an umbrella. then the rain magically stopped as we got off the ride. sometimes there are those moments where i just feel like God really likes us.
as closing time approached we thought it would be funny to ride all the baby rides that also fit adults. the baby swings were great. we met a great boy named juan and all held hands as the ride circled and really just had a great time. my sister brings out the out of control in me, and i like that.

since accomplishing our goal was so important to us we waited to eat until after the park closed. never has subway tasted better or have i been so happy to eat in a mini van in the parking lot of an amusement park.

as you can see, we did a pretty dang good job.

thanks for making bounce back the best ever guys!

lagoon

every year my dad pays for the whole fam to go to lagoon
(which is so sweet because there are like 50 of us)

ryan and i hadn't been to lagoon in years so we were excited to make the most of it! we got there right before it even officially opened and walked right on to wicked. it was one of our more proud moments. anyway, the first hour we went around with just mickayla and it was a great time as you can see.

when the lines got a little longer we didn't even mind! it gave us time to take this picture, send it to ryan's friend who speaks french, learn that it says "this is not a bicycle", and find out more about the artist René Magritte.

we also discovered my drawing i made when i was seven.

and what are the odds! the one i made when i was nine! as you can tell my drawing skills greatly improved in those two years.

we love love love the swings.
really though. are the swings at lagoon not the most magical thing? i will never stop being obsessed with them.
or the water fountain by the train
or this guy. recognize him anyone?
here. i'll give you a hint.
who knew joseph performed at lagoon?!

somehow we always got the best seats for all the rides
and kim got the best seat in the stroller
i love the sky ride, and so does that boy on the right.
still in love.

we even explored pioneer village for a few minutes
and nothing has ever been more funny to me.
after talking about dippin' dots every time we go to seven peaks we decided to finally get some. never really what i remember them to be but i still felt happy eating them.

it was really such a fun day with lots of rides and carbonated drinks and we even made time to watch those ridiculous shows that i secretly love so much. the only sad part of the day would be the very end when we tried to take sam on the carousel and even though there was plenty of spots for everyone the asian worker (sorry to bring nationality into this) told about half of the people to leave because we came after the ride officially closed. so we stood by it and sam and i sadly watched all the empty horses go round and round and i felt more and more angry at that little asian worker and maybe i'm still not completely over it but that is okay. it was a great day.
we heart lagoon.
