seriously. i was talking about it with brynne the other day and she said "i think the dirty dash is the new festival of colors" ..which i couldn't have said better. pictures are already starting to pop up everywhere on fb of people in obscure outfits covered in mud and if it isn't already annoying i'm sure it will be soon. so look at these pictures and like them before you hate them, okay? thank you.
welcome to the dirty dash in soldier hollow september 17th, 2011:
we were there an hour early so i took the opportunity to photograph some other dirty dashers:
i loved this little girl if you couldn't tell.
no i wasn't wearing a size medium child's costume. and no i didn't have to tie the sleeves behind me because i couldn't actually get the costume high enough to wear it properly. why would you ask that?
what would it have felt like to have hot water instead of getting hypothermia from the freezing water?
i guess we will never know.
pre-dash photo shoot :
we were so pumped.
this is the part where i put my camera away and the fun documentation kind of stopped. they said people would be taking photos along the way but they forgot to really do that for us so thanks to the girl with an iphone that took this photo below. that was kind of her.
(walking through deer creek was my favorite part! so i'm glad it is the one picture we have together)
flo-photo did take a few pictures, and for your viewing pleasure i classily posted them below:
(flo- we will probably buy a few so stop being mad!)
kim and i took our sweet time (half because we wanted to just enjoy it and half because well..we forgot to train or workout at all before the race) so we were not in the photo above because they finished a little before us.
okay. so they finished like an hour before us. but we really did have a great time!
and ryan was so sweet to be waiting at the end and finish with me.
(don't mind that scott had already rinsed off..like i said..this was an hour after they finished. no one blames him)
i feel like this post was weird but whatever. the dirty dash was way fun!
my body was ticked afterwards but that is bound to happen when you don't train slash work out at all or stretch before or after a 10k. whoops! i'm so awesome to my body it is ridiculous.
and in closing i just want to thank steven oswal who so generously gave his costume to the d.i. which i bought and wore this day. i ran it for you buddy!

hahahaa so out of control. but i love it!! i'm so sad we didn't get to do it with you guys. tanner and i are totally living vicariously through you and can't wait for our turn. and the leaves changing! and the crazy obstacles! i keep almost being finished but then i'm not. but now i am. go dirty dash 2k11!
No one looks as good in that Superman costume. Sorry Steven Oswal (don't you hope he googles his name someday to find you in his costume?) and speaking of DI, we definitely should have gone "thrifting" in the pinks, but don't worry I went to Savers on my lonesome and found some goodies. PS you cleaned up so nice this day who would have ever known? Thanks again for coming to the reception!
Wow, looks like I really missed out
What the cool?!
If the JIJI comes next year will you help me along? I'll wear a grandma outfit! :) I love the pictures. You are stinkin amazing!!
