sometimes you ruin fhe.

and by you, i mean me.

disclaimer: longest and most boring story ever. sometimes i know that no one will care about every detail of a story and i could probably tell the same story in two sentences but i still find myself doing it. so, just skip this one probably.

so one day i had this great idea to ride our bikes to the theater to see kangfu panda dos. initially, this was a great plan. ryan got off work, we ate cereal real quick while he gave a nice lesson, then we headed out on our journey. five seconds into it i realized my front tire was kind of low. riding with a low tire makes me craaaaazy so i insisted we stop at the sev and pay a dollar to fix it. ryan was somewhat anxious because we only had 15 minutes to get there but kindly let me fix my bike.
(slash he did it for me because yet again, he is so kind)

since we still had time left we decided to pump up his tires too which was the worst idea ever because it ended up just deflating it entirely. who knew we had different tire valves? wnotd.

so i stood by his bike feeling sad as he rode my bike to his house, got his pump, came back and tried rather unsuccessfully to pump it up (the tire was hating us!) and ended up just sweating to death from all the pumping and frustrated that our nice little plan was ruined. so we took our bikes back, jumped in the car and felt like we could still make the movie because we all know you have that twenty minute cushion of previews. this, on any other day of the week, might have been a good idea but not on a monday at at theater where families of three or more get in for 75 cents. dang you families with small children for taking all the seats in every pg rated movie!

so, because ryan was hating bikes that day (with good reason) and i refused to watch fast five (which was the only movie not sold out), we decided to play speed but couldn't actually find the cards. another bummer. but found phase ten instead! and listened to the jonsi station on pandora! it was great.
(and intense as you can see from the pictures above)

usually it is difficult to go completely out with the "all of one color" phase but with all those wilds i kept drawing it magically happened!

this is how we felt about it.
and as you can see, ten phases actually takes awhile considering when this picture was taken it was no longer light outside.

i think my favorite moment of the night is when ryan started calling me dragon lady (i have this problem with trying to be nice to people in card games and then feeling mad when they aren't kind back) and at one point said, "and now you are having dragon babies with your rhetoric!"

maybe it was one of those had to be there moments?

anyway.
glad that even when everything goes wrong,
we can still manage to have good time.

aaaaaaaand we eventually went and saw kangfu panda and i loved it way bad. highly recommend it.
