lacma = los angeles county museum of art
the largest art museum in the western united states!
if you guys ever go to LA, you should definitely hit up this museum because it is AWESOME.
waiting in line to enter, deer sculpture from edward scissor hands,
zodiac heads yes yes yes
after this picture was taken i did not take another one until after getting out of the exhibit. are you proud? it was maybe the hardest thing i have done (or have not done i guess) but i wanted to be respectful so instead i just wrote down the things i would have taken pictures of. so try to imagine pictures of the following really awesome things:
willy wonka's headgear
beetlejuice sleeves
headless horseman's cape
sleepy hollow pumpkin scarecrow
a few planet of the apes helmets
animatronics from charlie and the chocolate factory
batman cowls
catwomen suit
letter to johnny depp from tim burton
penguin baby carriage from batman returns
really sweet black light/neon carousel thing
annnnd
EDWARD SCISSORHAND'S HAND
AND HIS FULL COSTUME
looking at that list you can guess that maybe i'm a visual person? i just liked all the those things way more than the sketches and figures and everything else. seeing things in real life that have been in movies has always fascinated me and makes me appreciate all those talented people that put them together! i will end this section of the post by saying it was worth every penny.
this was the most stressful picture ever taken
we were also able to check the
california design exhibit which was a nice blast to the past as it showed all the great things from each decade
like this car!
and this chair being sold in the baby giftshop section which i'm only really posting because it was $875 dollars. WHAT? it looks like it is from ikea for like $10. my mind was blown.
next up was switching buildings to quickly check out the other exhibits before our parking meter ran out. the architecture was so great and so was the ginormous elevator!
this is what you saw while waiting for the elevator
"if you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stepping on a human face forever".
again, i say WHAT?
i have no idea what this exhibit was but it was the worst. way gruesome and awkward and creepy.
i do not recommend it.
thank heavens tanner let us stay a few more minuets to see the third level which had giant things that should usually be baby sized everywhere! it was the best.
i LOVED this giant balloon animal and was so happy it wasn't illegal to take pictures of it.
i can't really say that i loved these ginormous corn flake boxes but they were fun
and this huge egg!
this was my way of getting a picture with my dog without having to ask anyone haha
and that my friends was the best morning spent at lacma!
if i lived there i would definitely become a member and sit by that dog or stare at those plates all the days.
and thanks b for taking some of these photos!
