r is for birthday activities

ryan's birthday activities look like this:
russ using a blow torch to light ry's birthday candles
a little pre-birthday dinner with some of ryan's mission friends
they all got to ride the saddle together since their birthdays are one day apart!
on the actual day of ryan's birthday he finished his tests early so we went with our bf jacquie to noodles. how about those new electronic soda machine things! that couple using it looooved it.

eventually in the day i gave ryan his birthday gifts. one of them was one of those head scratcher things that looks like a whisk that guys are obsessed with and the others were contained in this envelope:
yes i whipped out the asian stationary. best gf ever award right?

which was full of coupon picture things for future dates. i'm seriously obsessed with making gross slash seemingly really cheesy (but really is a joke. promise.) photoshopped pictures so this was a perfect opportunity to let that talent shine.
oh you didn't know that making gross slash seemingly really cheesy photoshopped pictures is a talent? well it is.

okay so maybe that cruise is for little kids.
utah are you serious?! yes. yes you are.

i really did want this one to be a joke but it looks like i wanted it to look nice
and serious which i'm semi embarrassed about.

yessssssssssss

wasn't that fun?

anyway. after ryan got off work we went and played ultimate frisbee. and by we i mean i agreed to stand on the field, run around, and pretend to play ultimate frisbee.
this was basically to stall until richard, melissa, kalie, and spencer got to provo to surprise him with a friend dinner!
ultimate ended earlier than i thought so i had to pretend like i wanted ryan to go home and change because he was sweaty (like i would ever really say that!) but right before we got there they texted me to say they arrived! so i told him nevermind and that we needed to turn around and go to red lobster right then because all of the sudden i was starving. i'm really glad that his friends were there when we arrived to help him see i wasn't actually crazy or that big of a jerk.
afterwards we went back to jacquie's and had ice cream and brownies. and with the help of five people i made my grandma's hot fudge sauce and it didn't even get ruined! being with all of them was so fun, thank you guys again for coming down! you were the highlight of the day!

after they went home i let ryan choose what movie we watched and he chose this gem:
had i even ever heard of it? no.
i'm learning i had a pretty sad childhood because there are hundreds of other classics i never saw growing up.

anyway. love him for loving balto and for being a year older! yes to birthdays!

whaaaat? you can float the provo river for halloween?! kids schmids. i want in. thriller?! i want to go to that sooo bad. it's been a few years since i've gone and i miss it terribly. i bet my list of never seen classic movies can top yours - not that i'm trying to start a fight or anything of course. i just really live a deprived classic movie life. home alone? saw it for the very first time last year. never seen hook, never seen count of monte cristo, never seen fox & the hound or lady & the tramp either.
